The LOX12 is a fire-resistant lithium battery charging cabinet with 12 individual charging compartments for the safe charging and storage of lithium-ion batteries. The LOX12 lithium battery cabinet is designed for the safe storage and charging of lithium-ion batteries used in devices such as e-bikes, e-scooters and professional communication devices. The cabinet provides a controlled charging environment that helps to reduce the risks associated with lithium-ion batteries, such as overheating, thermal reactions, fire and explosions. The cabinet is particularly suitable for work environments where several users each have their own devices. Examples of this are police stations, emergency services or industrial workplaces where each employee is responsible for their own battery-powered devices such as two-way radios, tools or mobility batteries. With 12 individual charging compartments, each equipped with a combination lock, the LOX12 allows users to safely store and charge their batteries while keeping the equipment organised and secured. The LOX12 combines secure personal storage with the safe charging of lithium-ion batteries in shared work environments.

Fire detection:
The cabinet features a dual detection system that combines smoke detection and temperature monitoring to detect early signs of battery failure. Through the combination of both detection methods, the system can distinguish between harmless environmental influences and actual fire hazards. If smoke and an unusual rise in temperature are detected at the same time, a serious battery incident is identified.

Alarm and notifications:
If a potential hazard is detected, the cabinet alerts nearby staff via an integrated audiovisual alarm system. The notification system includes a high-intensity siren, a flashing optical indicator and an RGB status LED.
The cabinet uses two alarm levels to provide an early warning while reducing false alarms due to environmental influences.

A pre-alarm is triggered if either smoke or elevated temperatures (>60 °C) are detected inside the cabinet. This early warning immediately activates safety precautions and alerts staff at the same time. In the event of a pre-alarm, the system carries out the following measures:
– Battery charging is interrupted
– The ventilation system is switched off
– A pulsating siren is activated
– The RGB status LED changes to warning status

A full alarm is triggered when smoke and an unusual rise in temperature are detected simultaneously, indicating a confirmed battery incident.
In the event of a full alarm, the cabinet activates maximum safety measures:
– The charging process is stopped immediately
– The ventilation remains switched off
– The siren sounds continuously
– The RGB status LED lights up red
Alarm signals can also be forwarded to the building's fire alarm panel, which allows for external monitoring and response. A mains connection is provided in the cabinet for this purpose. If the cabinet is equipped with the optional aerosol extinguishing system (at extra cost), this is also activated automatically.

Safety construction:
The LOX12 cabinet is made of fire-resistant materials designed to contain the spread of fire in the event of battery accidents.
Each compartment is equipped with fire-resistant linings and perforated shelves that allow effective circulation of heat and extinguishing agents while helping to limit the spread of fire. The cabinet construction itself consists of materials of fire protection class A1 and complies with recognised fire protection standards.

Safety features:
The cabinet is equipped with active ventilation to keep the heat generation of the batteries within safe limits during the charging process.
There is a mains connection for an external exhaust air system to discharge excess heat and potential gases if the system is connected to the building ventilation.
Each cabinet features an individual combination lock, which allows for the safe storage of batteries during the charging process. Self-closing hinges ensure that the cabinet doors close automatically after use. The cabinet also features adjustable levelling feet for a robust, stable stand as well as forklift pockets on all four sides so that it can be easily moved with a pallet truck in the event of an incident.

Integrated charging function:
The cabinet features 12 individual charging compartments, each equipped with two sockets. This allows several batteries to be charged safely.

1-phase with operating voltage 230 V, 1-phase 16 A, maximum electrical output per cabinet 3,68 kWh. Maximum charging output per side (6 compartments) 1,84 kWh.
Optional see below under accessories, with operating voltage 400 V, 3-phase 3 x 16 A, maximum electrical output per cabinet 7,36 kWh. Maximum charging output per side (6 compartments) 3,68 kWh = 1 phase.

Model for UK:
Operating voltage of 230 V, 1-phase, 13 A, maximum electrical output per cabinet 2,99 kWh. Maximum charging output per side (6 compartments) 1,495 kWh.
Optional with operating voltage 400 V, 3-phase 3 x 16 A, maximum electrical output per cabinet 7,36 kWh. Maximum charging output per side (6 compartments) 3,68 kWh = 1 phase.

Optional aerosol extinguishing system:
For additional protection, the cabinet can be equipped with an optional aerosol extinguishing system.
When activated during a confirmed alarm, the fire suppression system releases a dry aerosol within 1–2 seconds inside the cabinet. The aerosol interrupts the chemical combustion process at molecular level and helps to bring lithium-ion battery fires under control in under 30 seconds. The aerosol distributes itself in all compartments of the cabinet, providing an additional level of safety in addition to detection, alerting and fire containment.
Can only be ordered in conjunction with a cabinet, factory fitted only.
